Civil Disobedience

This week we’ll be reading Thoreau’s famous essay. Written in the context of slavery, and delivered at the Lyceum at Concord in 1849, we’ll examine the tenets of this this essay which include when citizens should and should not listen to their government. Thoreau is an important American thinker who influenced the world. Expect to touch a number of subjects! Should be a good time!
